Lesson 3. Cross sections. Feynmann diagrams. Fermi’s Golden rule.

Students should be able to:

  • Draw simple Feynmann diagrams for particle interactions
  • Check Feynman diagrams for validity regarding basic conservation laws
  • Calculate particle momenta in Feynman diagrams based conservation law in vertex
  • Explain Fermi’s golden rule and the relation between calculated amplitudes and measured cross sections

 

Warmup your students: ask  activating questions at the beginning and at the end of the lesson
