Lesson 7. Inelastic and deep inelastic electron scattering.

Students should be able to:

  • Interpret cross-section graphs of hadronic resonances in electron-nucleon scattering
  • Distinguish between hadronic resonances and deeply inelastic scattering.
  • Explain main spects of Bjorken’s scaling variable
  • Relate structure functions with form factors
  • Explain the difference between valence quarks and sea-quarks based on Parton distribution functions

Warmup your students: ask  activating questions at the beginning and at the end of the lesson
