11 Connecting H5P elements

To connect H5P elements to your course, you have to create those H5P elements on https://ethz.h5p.com. Please contact Marinka Valkering for giving you access.

Please keep in mind, that you can only use H5P elements for non-graded assignments (at least at the moment).

After you created H5P elements for your course, you have to prepare your course for having H5P elements connected via LTI1.1.

Step 1: Advanced Settings

In the course environment, the following advanced settings “Advanced Module List” and “LTI-passports” should be set:

Under Advanced Settings, scroll down to “LTI Passports” and enter the following text:

“SMS:ethzrich-66bf4:lu9BigvPTyDmsF60MX0HY4muVRXWu0OX”

In the form the following fields must be specified:

  • Display Name: LTI Consumer
  • LTI ID: SMS
  • LTI Application Information: https://ethz.h5p.com/
  • LTI URL: e.g. https://ethz.h5p.com/content/1291480040334598897 (or URL of another task in H5P, see example at the end of this page)

After “Save” the task appears in the course, but not in the correct layout. Use Preview to test whether the task appears correctly:

Return via “View In Studio” and publish the page (“Publish”).
