Lesson 2. Radioactivity. Kinematics (Intro).

Students should be able to:

  • Explain the concept and different types of radioactive decay, and accompanying radiation
  • Calculate the half-life of a radioactive isotope given its exponential decay curve.
  • Compare the stopping behaviour of different ionizing radiation in matter
  • Apply coordinates & time in order to describe kinematic processes.
  • Calculate velocity as the momentary rate of change of position.
