Lesson 11. Energy transfer in waves. Interference

Students should be able to:

  • Visualize wave fronts of plane waves, circular waves and spherical waves.
  • know that waves transport energy but not matter.
  • Calculate the intensity of a wave in a given distance from the source and relate the solution to the power of the source.
  • Calculate the phase difference and the path difference between two interfering waves.
  • Calculate the amplitude of the interference of two waves at specific points.

Warmup your students! Ask two activating questions at the beginning and at the end of the lesson
