Part six. The future of work: Old and new job skills

It is difficult to know beforehand how inventions might change the future. A painting from 1352 is the first recorded use of someone wearing eyeglasses, although they were probably invented many years earlier. The widespread use of eyeglasses is  said to be responsible for the largest one-time IQ {Intelligence) boost in human history by expanding the pool of potentially literate people. In the same way, the computer has probably changed the way you live and work. making knowledge more accessible-. But new inventions may lead to a need for different skills and, sometimes, tl1e loss of jobs.
