Educational developers’ field is the area of teaching. They provide support to lecturers and coordinate developments. Teaching specialists are in direct contact with the faculty in their departments and thus have direct knowledge of lecturers’ specific needs in their teaching activities. In departments that hired an Educational Developer the way of teaching becomes a discussion topic.
The department decides on which key aspects the Educational Developer/Lehrspezialist (LSP) will work on. The following are possible, miscellaneous tasks and activities:

- interdepartmental (teaching related) communication and increase of exchange
- exchange with the central unit LET
- inhouse “teaching know how”
- use of the EduApp
- support and advice in teaching questions

- teaching internships for lecturers
- teaching and learning consultancy for lecturers and students
- production of teaching videos
- use of interactive platforms (e.g. Moodle, eSkript, TORQUE, …)
- question banks
- implementation of critical thinking
- gamification
- identification of lecturers’ and students’ needs
- maintaining ongoing contact to students
- didactica courses by the Educational Developer for the faculty
- education development across the department
- development of specific questionnaires in cooperation with the LET
